2004

2004 was a significant year for a-ha in many aspects. In 2004 the band celebrated their twentieth anniversary. The new singles collection called "The Singles: 1984-2004", which included 19 of 32 released at that moment singles, and a book "The Swing Of Things" written by Jan Omdahl and released in English and Norwegian, became real gifts for all fans. The book contained a unique CD with demo recordings and songs that had never been released from a-has early days.

The same year a-ha signed three-album deal with Universal Records. We should remind of the fact, that the previous 20 years the band was signed to Warner Brothers Records, and this collaboration led them to the tops of charts.

There were only 2 concert appearances by a-ha: June 4 in Bergen (Norway), and June 12 at Rock under the Bridge Festival (Denmark).

Morten Harket recorded the song "Gildas Prayer" for Earth Affair project.

Paul and Lauren founded their own label Eleventeen followed by release of the new album which was called "Savoy". The promotion tour consisted of 17 concerts and appearances at several festivals in Norway.

Magne Furuholmen released his first solo album "Past Perfect Future Tense" on his own label Passion Fruit. Magne perfomed some songs from that album at his exhibitions "Paynes Gray" openings in Oslo, London and Edinburgh.
